Questions, answered.

Is there a free trial?

No. PayPolka is $5/month during beta, billed when you create your account. If it isn't the right fit, new accounts get a 14-day refund — just email us. Cancel anytime.

Will my $5 price go up after beta?

No. Sign up during beta and you keep $5/month for as long as your subscription stays active — it never rises to the $9 standard rate. That $9 rate only applies to accounts created after beta ends. (If you cancel and come back later, you'd sign up at whatever rate is current then.)

Do I need my own Stripe account?

Yes, to collect card, ACH, and Cash App Pay payments online. Money settles directly into your own Stripe account at Stripe's standard rates, and PayPolka adds no markup on processing fees. You can also record cash and check payments without Stripe.

What payment methods can my clients use?

Credit and debit card, ACH bank transfer, and Cash App Pay through Stripe, plus cash and check that you record yourself. You choose which methods to offer on each invoice.

Can I bill a deposit from an estimate?

Yes. Once a client accepts an estimate, you can bill a deposit up front, invoice progress as the work moves, and send a final-balance invoice — each one tracked against the original estimate. You can also create a single full invoice instead.

Do recurring invoices send or charge automatically?

Recurring invoices generate draft invoices on the schedule you set. You review each one and send it yourself — nothing goes out, and no card is charged, without you. It's a time-saver for retainers and maintenance plans, not auto-pilot billing.

Is PayPolka accounting software?

No. PayPolka covers the billing layer — estimates, invoices, payments, receivables, and sales-tax summaries — not full bookkeeping. If your accountant lives in QuickBooks or Xero, keep them; PayPolka handles getting the work billed and paid. Need job scheduling, time tracking, or crew management? That's our sibling product, ServCtrl.

Is PayPolka US-only?

Yes. PayPolka is built for US-based small service businesses and bills in US dollars. International support isn't on the roadmap right now.

How many users can I have?

Up to three users on one account, each with their own login — enough for an owner plus a partner or assistant. There's no per-seat upcharge; users are included in the flat price.
